چکیده

The survey was carried out to determine the molecular detection of Hepatitis B virus markers among blood donors between age 18-65 years from National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS) centre in Kaduna, Nigeria. samples were screened for (HBV) using Diagnostic kit HBV infection marker whole blood. serological determined polymerase chain reaction and confirmed. socio-demographic factors associated with structured questionnaires. total prevalence rates five (5) were: HBsAg 12(7.3%), HBsAb 5(3.0%), HBeAb HBcAb 18(10.9%), all negative HBeAg. HBVDNA detected 3 10 samples. Two three positive HBsAg, whereas one sample HBcAb. high (10.9%) HBsAg+ (7.3%) (3.6%) HBsAg- this indicates that is actively replicating chronic carriers consistently increasing spread within population areas are targeted.
